Inc. and Jeremy Laundergan of Askeland Engineering, the new
Nacra A2 A-Class Catamaran builds on
the success of the
Waterat
A-Cat they designed in 1996.
The
Nacra A2
has enjoyed critical success and Pete Melvin has shown the potential of this new
single-handed A-Cat.

May-June 2007: Jeremy Laundergan won both the Seattle and Santa Cruz West Coast A-Class Catamaran World Championship Qualifying Regattas in a Nacra A2
January 2007:After winning the 2006 North American Champs, Lars Guck won the A-Class Midwinter Championship in his custom Nacra A3.
2006 introduced the Nacra A3 as a model change which included repositioning the forward beam and adding a splash fairing between the foredecks and forward beam.
August 2005: PETE MELVIN sailing a Nacra A2 successfully defends his North American Championship in Oregon
June 2005: PETE MELVIN, sailing a Nacra A2 wins the 2005 International A-Class Catamaran Association World Championship
September 2004: PETE MELVIN, sailing a Nacra A2 wins the 2004 A-Class North American Championship in Michigan
NACRA A-2 wins Sailing World Magazine's 2005 “PERFORMANCE BOAT OF THE YEAR”
The A2 "Tooling and Prototyping" project wins Project Management Institute's Orange County chapter "2004 Project of the Year" award.
The Nacra A2 hulls, daggerboards and rudders are fabricated by Morrelli & Melvin Inc. and feature vinylester resin infused carbon fiber skins. The carbon Hall Spars mast is autoclave cured. And the beams are prepreg carbon. Performance Catamarans, Inc. assembles the components and provides marketing, sales and distribution services.
